Haven’t used digital printables before, or not too sure where to start? We’ve answered a few common questions about digital products and our printables below to help you.
Printing
DO I NEED TO BE VERY TECH-SAVVY TO USE THESE PRINTABLES?
Our digital printables are very straightforward, however we do recommend you have basic computer knowledge.
HOW MANY COPIES CAN I MAKE?
Once purchased they are yours to print as many times as you’d like! (For personal use only). Save them to your computer so you don’t have to download them again.
HOW WILL THE DESIGN LOOK ONCE PRINTED?
Appearance will vary depending on your monitor, printer, and paper types.
SHOULD I PRINT ON MY OWN OR PRINT AT A LOCAL PRINT SHOP?
It depends, for best results I recommend printing at your local print shop on photo grade paper stock. Or you can print using a local copy or print shop if you want to skip the hassle of printing and/or cutting at home. We recommend these print shops:

When printing at home things to consider are:
1) The quality of your home printer
2) How many items you’re looking to print
3) Does the printable use a lot of ink (E.g. Chalkboard designs use more ink)
4) Check what the maximum paper thickness is for your printer model – this can be found in your printer manual. You can also easily Google your printer model. Paper that’s too thick could jam and damage print heads.)
WHAT SIZE PAPER SHOULD I USE?
Most of our digital printables are formatted to print on a standard 8.5”x11” letter size or 8×10″ (Standard frame size), They can also be printed on A4.
WHAT TYPE OF PAPER/CARD STOCK SHOULD I USE?
The background on your template is transparent so you can print on kraft, white, ivory, or any other color paper. We recommend printing these on 100# – 120# card stock — regular paper tends to be too thin & flimsy. Print shops offer many types of card stocks to choose from. If printing at a local copy shop, ask to see one printed first to make sure you are happy with the colors and materials.
DO YOU OFFER PRINTING SERVICES?
Unfortunately, we do not offer any printing services at this time.
Editing my printables
DO PRINTABLES WORK ON PC AND MAC COMPUTERS?
Yes, printables work well on both Mac and PC computers. This MUST be done on a computer, not a mobile phone or iPad. Please make sure all edits to your template are made in Acrobat Reader, if you don’t have Acrobat Reader installed please download this free program here
DO I NEED SPECIAL SOFTWARE TO EDIT AND PRINT MY PRINTABLE?
Yes, you’ll need Acrobat Reader which is a free program. Using any other program could cause formatting and/or saving issues. If you don’t have Acrobat Reader installed, please download this free program: https://get.adobe.com/reader
DO I NEED TO INSTALL ANY FONTS?
Our templates do not require you to install any fonts. If you wish to find free fonts for your copy check out these websites: www.dafont.com, www.1001freefonts.com
I DON’T HAVE A COMPUTER. CAN I EDIT ON MY PHONE OR TABLET?
No. Our templates can only be edited on a computer using Acrobat Reader.
CUSTOMIZATIONS
CAN I ADD AN IMAGE OR LOGO TO MY PRINTABLE?
Unfortunately it’s not possible to add an image, photo, map or logo to your template using Acrobat Reader, however if you wish to change the design contact us to arrange custom changes.
TROUBLESHOOTING
THERE’S A PLUS SIGN (+) IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CORNER OF THE EDITABLE TEXT FIELD.
This happens when you have text that is going outside of the printable area, or an extra “return” in your text field. Therefore try reducing the amount of text or seeing if there is an extra “return” in your text field.
THE FONT IS SUBSTITUTING?
This happens when you are not editing the template in Acrobat Reader, or are using an older version of Acrobat Reader. You MUST use a computer (not a tablet or mobile device) and the most recent version of Acrobat Reader to prevent any formatting/saving issues. I CAN’T SAVE MY PRINTABLE?
This can happen when you are not editing the template in Acrobat Reader, or are using an older version of Acrobat Reader.
